SHIROLE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ARTS FUND

Award :- Two scholarship of the value of Rs 300/- and Rs. 300/- to be awarded annually.

  1. The Endowment shall be called the “ Shirole Scholarship for Arts Fund” to assist in the education of poor boys.

  2. The Executive Council of Nagpur University shall be the body acting in the administration of the said fund.

  3. The net income accruing from the said promissory Notes in each year shall be applied to the award of two scholarships for arts.

  4. The scholarships shall be termed the Junior and the Senior scholarship for Arts.

  5. Junior scholarship of the value of Rs. 300/- p.m. will be tenable for the pre-University Class and the senior scholarship of the value of Rs.300/- p.m. B.A. from 1962 in any college maintained by or admitted to the privileges of Nagpur University.

  6. a) The scholarship will be awarded on the results of the “secondary School Certificate Examination of the Vidarbha Board of Education” and the “Pro-University Examination” of Nagpur University respectively to the Marathi Brahmin Boys, who stand highest and who agrees to take Sanskrit as subject in their further studies but have not secured any other Scholarship and whose income of parents or guardian does not exceed Rs.1200/-


b) The Senior Scholarship will preferably be given to the holder of the
Junior Scholarship provided he has been successful in the –

“Pre-University Examination”

failing that it shall be awarded to the Marathi Brahmin boy who stands highestand who agrees to take Sanskrit as a subject in his further studies but has not secured any other Scholarship and “whose income of parents or guardian does not exceed Rs.1200/”. Otherwise to any Hindu Boy on the same terms.

c) Candidates for these Scholarships must have attended a High School recognized by the Vidarbha Board of Education” or College maintained by or admitted to the privileges of Nagpur University for two years should prosecute their studies in a College


Maintained by or admitted to the privileges of Nagpur University must agree to take Sanskrit as a Subject for their studies and must not have completed 19 years of age for the Junior and 21 years of age for the Senior scholarship .

  1. The scholarship shall not be held in conjunction with any other scholarship.
     

  2. The scholarship will be withdrawn if the student fail in an annual examination and may then be awarded to the next suitable students eligible under condition 6(a) for the balance of the period for which they were previously awarded.
     

  3. Administration costs, i.e. postage charges, money order commission, etc. Will be charged to Fund .
     

  4. in all other respects the scholarship shall be subject to the rules in force for the tenure of Government scholarships.
     

  5. The Administration of the fund may from time to time spend the seving from the fund in giving books to poor boys, or a prize for an essay or in defraying the expenses of the examinations of any poor boys or in any other suitable ways suggested or approved by the donor or his male successor after him.
     

  6. The Academic Council of Nagpur University shall make selection of the candidates for the award of scholarships and shall obtain the approval of the donor or his male heir to the selection before the award of the scholarship is made.

SAU. RADHA BAI GOVIND OKA SCHOLARSHIP.

  1. The endowment shall be called “Sau. Radha Bai Govind Oka Scholarship Fund”.

  2. The Executive Council of Nagpur University shall be the administrator of the said fund.

  3. The net income accruing from the fund shall be applied to the award of the scholarship to a woman student who from amongst the students having passed the H.S.S.C. Exam. with Science subject of the Maharashtra State of Board of higher Education from five district of Nagpur Divisional Board has been admitted to the study medical Science 1st year including Ayurvedic Systm of Medicine and Homeopathy in any of the colleges affiliated to the Nagpur University.

  4. If no women students who has passed the above Examination of Nagpur University with Science subject, is eligible for the award of the Scholarships, the scholar shall be selected from among women students who have passed the secondary certificate of the Vidarbha Board of Secondary Education subject to the provision in clause 5.

  5. There shall be no objection to the tenure of the Scholarship inconjuction with another scholarship awarded by the University or by any other body.

  6. As far as possible, the Academic Council shall so fix the period of the tenure of the scholarship that the scholar can complete the whole course required for passing the highest examination of the institution which she has joined. Provided that it shall be open to the Academic Council to terminate the tenure of the scholarship, with effect from such date as it may determine, if it is satisfied, on the report of the head of the institution concerned, that the scholar is not making satisfactory progress at the institution as judged by the results of its examinations.

  7. (i) Any money saved out of the income of the endowment shall be allowed to accumulate and, when possible, added to the fund.

    (ii) After the completion of her studies, such scholar should, if she is in a Financial position to do so, repay to the fund the sums, in whole or in part,  Received by her on account of the scholarship; but no scholar shall be
    Under any legal obligation to repay any sums under the provision of this Sub-clause.

    (iii) Any income accruing under the provisions of sub-clause (i) or (ii) of this  Clause, shall be utilized, as soon as possible, for increasing the value of  the scholarship or for such other purpos as the Academic Council may

  8. The name of the scholar shall be published in theUniversity Calendar.

  9. All matters not otherwise provided for in this schedule shall be determined by  the Academic Council and its decision thereon shall be final.

THE VASANT KRISHNARAO KHANDEKAR SCHOLARSHIP FAND MEDAL FUND.

Award :- One scholarship and one gold medal.

  1. The endowment shall be called the “Vasant krishnarao khandekar scholarship and Medal fund”.

  2. The Executive council of the Nagpur University shall be the administrator of the said fund.

  3. The income accruing from the fund shall be applied to the award of a gold medal and a scholarship in accordance with the provisions of this scheme.

  4. Every year a gold medal of the value of rupees 700/- (or such amount as may be determined by the Executive Council from time to time), shall be awarded to the examinee who obtains the highest number of marks in Mathematics from among the successful examinees at the B.Sc. Examination of the year and is placed in the first or the second division at the examination.

  5. The inscriptions on one side of the medal shall be “Vasant krishnarao khandekar Gold Medal awarded ---------------------------- in the year -------------” and “ Nagpur University ” on the other side.

    Every alternate year a Scholarship shall be awarded to the examinees who obtains the highest number of marks from among the successful examinees at the: -
    Pre-Professional for 1960 (March-April)
    First Year Science for 1961
    First Year Arts and B.Sc. Part-I from 1962 onwards

    Examination of the year and who offers the Science Group of subject at the examination. The scholar shall prosecute a cours of Studies for the B.Sc. Examination in a college connected with Nagpur University and shall select

    Mathematics as one of his subjects for the Examination. The scholarship shall be tenable for a period of two years.

    The academic council may, however, terminate its tenure earlier if the scholar ceases to prosecute his studies to the satisfaction of the Principle of his college, or fails to comply with may of the conditions of the tenure of the scholarship as stated in this scheme. The Scholarship shall not be held in conjunction with any other scholarship.

  6. (A) If the examinee eligible for award of the scholarship under Regulation 6 Accepts any other scholarship, it shall be awarded to the examinee who obtains at the examination the next highest number of marks among the examinees who do not accept any other scholarship and are otherwise eligible for award of the scholarship under Regulation 6.

  7. The medal shall be presnted to the winners at convocation of the University and the names of the scholar and the medallist for each year shall be published in the University Calendar and communicated to the donor.

  8. In the event of two or more examinees obtaining the same number of marks, the medal or the scholarship shall be awarded to the one who is younger or youngest in age.

  9. The Executive Council of the university shall, so far as may be, given effect to the wish of the donor that a photograph of his son, Vasant Krishnarao Khandekar, which he proposes to gift every year, be presented to the winners along with the scholarship and the medal to be presented under paragraph 7.

    If at any time hereafter Nagpur University institutes a degree in Engineering, the Scholarship shall be awarded for prosecution of a cours for that degree instead of for the B.Sc. degree, the conditions of its award being, in so far as may be, the same as those specified in this scheme.

  10. All matters not otherwise provided in this scheme shall be determined by the Academic Council and its decision thereon shall be final.

THE SMT. PARBATI BAI KASHINATH DIXIT SCHOLARSHIP FUND.

  1. The endowment shall be called the “Shrimati Parbati Bai Kashinath Dixit Scholarship Fund”.

  2. The Executive Council of Nagpur University shall be the administrator of the said fund.

  3. The income accruing from the fund shall be applied to the award of scholarship in accordance with the provisions in these Regulations.

  4. Every year a scholarship of Rs. 175/- shall be awarded to the student who from among those students who joins in that year the course for the B.A. Final with Indian Philosophy as a subject or part of a subject of the course, has obtained the highest marks in Marathi at the B.A Part -I and B.A.-II. The Scholarship shall be tenebale for ten months.

  5. In the event of two or more examinees obtaining the same number of marks, the scholarship shall be awarded to the one who is younger or youngest in age

  6. Any money saved out of the income of the endowment shall be allowed to accumulate and when possible, added to the fund, and the additional income shall be utilized in increasing the value of the scholarship.

  7. All matters not otherwise provided for in these Regulations shall be determined by the Academic Council and its decision thereon shall be final.

THE NIYOGI AND PURANIK DIAMOND JUBLIEE (1946) SCHOLARSHIP FUND.

  1. The endowment shall be called “The Niyogi and Puranik Diamond Jubilee (1946) Scholarship Fund.”


  2. The Executive Council of Nagpur University shall be the administrator of the said fund.


  3. The income accruing from the fund shall be applied to the award of a scholarship as hereinafter provided.


  4. A scholarship shall be awarded every alternate year to a student of a college who obtains the highest number of marks from the examinees successful at the:-

    B.Sc. Part I Examination of the Nagpur University of the year.

    A) The holder of the Scholarship shall be required to prosecute the B.Sc. course  in a collage in Nagpur University.

    ii) The scholarship shall not be awardable in conjunction with any other scholarship from a public charitable fund.

    iv) The tenure of the scholarship shall be for a period of two year. the Academic Council of the Nagpur University may, however, terminate its tenure earlier if the holder ceases to prosecute his studies to the satisfaction of the principal of his College, or fails to observe any of the conditions of the tenure of the
    scholarship, here in contained.

    v) If, for any reasons, it is not possible to award the scholarship to a student who obtains the highest number of marks in the examination, it shall be awarded to the student who obtains the next highest number of marks at the same examination.


  5. The award of the scholarship shall be made by the Academic Council of theNagpur University and the name of the holder shall be published in theUniversity Calendar.


  6. In the event of two or more students being eligible for the award of the scholarship, the scholarship shall be awarded to the one who is younger or the younhst in age.


  7. Any surplus remaining out of the income in any year after awarding the Scholarship shall be allowed to accumulate and, when possible, added to the Fund and the additional income shall be utilized in increasing the value of the scholarship.


  8. All matters not otherwise provided for in these Scheme shall be determined by the Academic Council of the Nagpur University and its decision thereon shall be final.

SHRI N.B. PARANJAPE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.

Donor :- Shrimati Laxmibai Narayanrao Paranjpe of Nagpur.

Value of Endowment :- face value of Rs. 73,800/- (S.B.I.)

Award : Scholarship of Rs. 375/- per month tenable for not more than 22 months or for such other value and period as the Academic council may from time to time determine.

  1. The endowment shall be called “Shri N.B. Paranjape Memorial Scholarship”.

  2. The Executive Council shall be the Administrator of the said Fund.

  3. The award of the scholarship shall be made by such officer of the University and at such time as the Academic Council of the University may determine.

  4. The net income accruing from the Fund shall be applied every alternative year to the award of a monthly, scholarship of Rs.375/- p.m. tenable for not more than twenty-two months or for such other period and of value as the Executive Council may from time to time determine to a student of M. Sc. admitted to the University Teaching deptt. or any other College/Institution affiliated to the Nagpur University has secured highest percentage of marks at the immediately preceding year B.Sc. Final Examination of the Nagpur University.

    The scholarship shall be held in-conjunction with other Scholarship.

  5. 1) The scholarship shall be forfeited on the holder:-
    i) Creasing to prosecute his studies for the M.Sc. degree as aforesaid.
    ii) Failing to pass the part I Examination for the M.Sc. degree at the end of the first year of study; or
    iii) Failing to prosecute his studies with due deligence.

    2) The scholarship may then be awarded for the unexpired term to any deserving student who has passed the Part –I Examination and who is prosecuting his studies for the Final Examination, or it may be awarded in accordance with clause 4 at the B.Sc. Examination next following.

  6. The scholarship shall not be held in conjunction with any other scholarship. If the student who becomes eligible to the scholarship in accordance with clause 4 is financially so well-to-do as not to need it, or does not avail of it, the Academic Council may give it to the next eligible and needy student. The tenure of the scholarship shall be  subject to the rules for the time being in force for the tenure of Government scholarships.

  7. Any surplus income from the Fund remaining unspent shall be allowed to accumulate and, as soon as practicable, be invested and added to the Fund. The value of the scholarship and or the period may then be increased to the extent conveniently possible.

  8. All matter not otherwise provided for in this Schedule shall b e determined by the Academic council and its decision thereon shall be final.

REGULATION RELATING TO SOU. TARABAI SARANJAME SCHOLARSHIP FUND.

Value of Endowment :- face value of Rs. 1,07,000/- ( Rs. One Lac seven thousand ) only.

Award : One Scholarship Rs. 600/- p.m.

  1. The Nagpur University will hold the assets of the present trust fund, namely Tarabai Saranjame Udyog Mandir and convert the said asset into approved from of Govt. Securities will be of the type of those yielding annual return.

  2. The net income accruing from the fund after deducting administrative charges at the rate of 10% of the total annual interest shall be applied to the award of a Scholarship on the terms set out here-in-after. Any surplus income will be added to the trust’s fund and the original trusts shall not be used for any other purpose except that stated here, i.e. for the purpose of this scholarship.

  3. The said scholarship shall be called “Sou. Tarabai Saranjame Scholarship” and the fund shall be held in the name of the Sou. Tarabai Saranjame Scholarship fund.

  4. The Executive Council of the Nagpur university, shall be the Administrator of the said fund.

  5. (i) The net income accruing from the fund as in para2 above shall be applied to the award
    of scholarship to a Lady candidate who from amongst the students admitted to the M.F.A. Part –I Course in University Deppt. of Fine Arts has secured maximum marks in the qualifying Examination for admission to M.F.A. Part-I.

    (ii) The Scholarship be restricted to female students pursuing course in creative painting Portrait. Painting applied Arts and such other subjects but excluding drama.

    (iii) If the eligible scholar does not pass M.F.A. Part-I Examination for whatever reasons or having passed the examination does not join M.F.A. Part-II or leaves in the middle of session the scholarship shall automatically be awarded to a student of M.F.A. Part-II class who is found best on the basis of conditions laid down in (ii) above.

    (iv) The value of the scholarship shall be Rs. 600/- p.m. and can be held in conjunction with any other scholarship/free ship etc.

  6. In the event of two or more students becoming eligible for the award, it shall be awarded to the younger of the youngest of them.

  7. Any income accruing under provisions of Para 2 above shall be utilized as soon as possible for increasing the value of the award.

  8. The name of the Scholar shall be published in the University Calendar.

  9. All matters not otherwise provided for here in after shall be determined by the Academic Council and its decision thereon shall be final.

UNIVERSITY POST-GRADUATE RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP.

1) the endowment shall be called the “University Post-Graduate research scholarship Fund”.

2) The Executive Council of the university shall be the Administrator of the said Fund.

3) The award of the scholarship shall be made by the University on the recommendations of a sub-committee appointed by the Executive Council for the purpose.

4) The net income accruing from the fund shall be applied to the award of a monthly scholarship to a graduate who has been admitted to the degree of M. Sc. in mathematics of the Nagpur University in the First Class. The value of the scholarship shall be Rs. 2,000/- p.m. and it shall be awarded every year or at longer intervals according as may be decided by the Executive Council.

5) The candidate for the scholarship shall be selected by the scholarship committee appointed by the Executive Council. However for this selection the Head of the Deppt. Of Mathematics of the Nagpur University should be associated as the member of the scholarship committee.

6) The holder of the scholarship shall prosecute his studies and carry on his research work with a view to qualify himself for the degree of Doctor of Science or for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the Faculty of science, according as the said committee may direct at an Institution and in a subject approved by the committee aforesaid, and shall at the end of each year submit a report of the work done by him, countersigned by the Head of the Institution where he is carrying on his research work.

7) If at any time the authorities of the Institution in which the holder of the scholarship shall be carrying on his research work, report that he is not prosecuting his studies with due diligence and is unfit to continue to hold the scholarship, the matter shall be placed before the aforesaid, committee and it may declare the scholarship to be forfeited.

8) All matters not otherwise provided for in this schedule shall be determined by the Executive Council and its decision thereon shall be final.

LT. COL.A.N.BOSE, MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND.

Value of Endowment :- face value of Rs. 85,900/- (Eighty five thousand nine hundred) only (S.B.I.)

Award : One Scholarship Rs. 500/- p.m.

1) The endowment shall be called “Lt.Col. A.N. Bose Memorial Scholarship Fund”.

2) The Executive Council of Nagpur University shall be the administrator of the said Fund.

3) The net income accruing from the Fund shall be applied for the award of a scholarship of Rs. 500/- p.m. to the student who has not failed in any previous Examination for M.B.B.S. course and who obtains the highest number of marks in “ Medicine” at the Final M.B.B.S. Examination in November.

4) The scholarship may be awarded during the internship period.

5) During internship period, the students may get Rs. 500/- p.m. as stipend.

6) Any money saved out of the income of the Fund shall be allowed to accumulate and shall be added to the fund and the additional income shall be utilized in increasing the value of the scholarship.

7) All matters not otherwise provided for in this schedule shall be determined by the Academic Council of the Nagpur University and its decision thereon shall be final.

PANNALAL DEWADIA MEMORAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND.

(In Memory of the donor’s husband, the late shri Pannalal Dewadia)

Value of Endowment :- Face value of Rs. 2,00,800/- (Two lac eight hundred) only (S.B.I.)

Award : One Scholarship of Rs. 1000/- p.m. tenable for 20 months (to be awarded each year)

1) The endowment shall be called “Pannalal Dewadia Scholarship Fund”.

2) The Executive Council of Nagpur University shall be the Administrator of the said fund.

3) The net income accruing from the fund every year shall be applied to the award of one scholarship to a student prosecuting the post-graduate course of studies in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany or Zoology in a Post-Graduate Science Department of Nagpur university, on merit-cum-proverty basis, according to the rules of the University for the time being in force.

4) The Scholarship shall be Rs. 1000/- p.m. tenable for 20 months (10 months in each academic session).

5) The scholarship shall be awarded each year by the Vice-chancellor on the advice of a Committee of the Head of Departments in those Science Subjects.

6) In the event of two or more students being eligible for the award of scholarship, the award shall be made to the younger or the youngest of them.

7) The name of the Scholarship-holder shall be published in the University Calendar.

8) Any money saved out of the income of the endowment shall be allowed to accumulate and, when possible, added to the fund, and the additional income shall be utilized for increasing the value of the scholarships or any of them.

9) All matters not otherwise provided for in this scheme shall be determined by the Academic Council and its decision shall be final.

3) The net income accruing from the fund shall applied every alternate year to the award of a monthly scholarship of such value as may from time to time the fixed by the Academic Council of the University to the student. The student of the Hai-Hai kshatriya Community (also known as kalal, kalar or kalwar) who stands first from among those successful candidates of the Community at the ‘Secondary School Certificate Examination of the Vidarbha Board of Education” of the year in which the Scholarship is due to be awarded and who joins the course for the:-

Pre-professional for 1960 ( March-April ), OR
First year Science for 1961, OR
First year Arts and B.Sc. Part I from 1962 onwards.

Examination in a college connected with the university. The Scholarship shall be held for three years for B.A. or B.Sc. by a candidate who obtains the highest percentage of marks in the higher Secondary School Certificate Examination and the Pre-University Arts and Science Examination subject to the conditions stated in this Schedule. The holder of the scholarship shall be called “The Hai-Hai Kshatriya Education Fund Scholar”.

4) The award of the Scholarship shall be made by such officer of the University and at such time as the Academic Council may determine.

5) The scholarship shall not be held in conjunction with any other scholarship and its tenure shall, where the university rules are silent, be subject to the rules in force for the time being for the tenure of the Government scholarships in colleges.

6) The period of tenure of the scholarship shall terminate if the holder:-

(i) Ceases to study for the B.A. Part I and B.Sc. Part I Examination; or
(ii) Fails to obtain promotion to the second year of the course; or
(iii) Fails to prosecute his studies to the satisfaction of the principal of hisCollege.

On such termination the scholarship shall be awarded to another candidate on the results of the Vidarbha Secondary School Certificate Examination held next after the termination.

7) Any surplus income from the fund remaining unspent in the hands of the Administrators shall be allowed to accumulate and, as soon as permissible, be invested by them and added to the fund. The amount of the scholarship increased to the extent permissible by the interest on such additional investment.

8) All matters not otherwise provided for in this schedule shall be determined by the Academic Council and its decision thereon shall be final.

Sc. part –I of Nagpur University in accordance with its regulations. On the scholar ceasing to prosecute such a course of studies to the satisfaction of the principal at any time during above period, the scholarship shall at once determine.

Provided that the Academic Council may for special reasons permit the scholar to hold the scholarship while prosecuting her studies in a college affiliated to any other University constituted under the Act of any State Government or of the Central Government.

The Scholarship may be held in conjunction with any other merit Scholarship.

3) The following medals bearing the words Radhabai Paonaskar Medal awarded to …………….. in the year……………..at the …………….Examination on one side, and the words “ Nagpur University” on the other, shall be annually awarded .

a) A Gold medal of the value of Rs. 800/- to the Student who obtains the highest

4. i. “ Candidates for award of scholarships shall be selected from the successful
Candidates at the B.Sc. Part-I Examination”.
ii) The candidate for award of the fellowship shall be selected from among the persons who have passed the M. Sc. Examination of Nagpur University.
iii) No person the annual income of whose guardian exceeds Rs.20,000/- shall be eligilble for award of the scholarships or the fellowship.

5. i. Each scholarship and the fellowship shall be tenable for a period of 21 months.

REGULATION OF THE INDIAN MATHEMATICAL SOCEITY 35THCONFERENCE RECEPTION COMMITTEE FELLOWSHIP FUND

DONOR : Reception Committee of the 35th Conference of the Indian Mathematical Society, 1969 through Dr. B.S. Fadnis, Local Secretary.

VALUE OF ENDOWMENT : face value of Rs. 1,59,307/- invested in fixed deposit with the
State Bank of India, Nagpur.

AWARD : One Fellowship of Rs.900/- p.m.

1. The endowment shall be called “The Indian mathematical society 35th conference reception committee fellowship Fund.”

2. The Executive Council of the Nagpur University shall be the Administrator of the said Fund.

3. Out of the total annual income10% shall be deducted as administrative charges and the net income shall be utilised for award of a Fellowship to a student who from amongst the successful examinees at the M.A./M.Sc. Part –I examination taken together of the Nagpur University obtains highest percentage of marks (in any case not less than 60%) in Mathematics, and provided.

i) He joins the M. A./M. Sc. Part-II class in Mathematics in any of the Colleges or
Departments affiliated to/ maintained by the Nagpur University.
ii) Passes the M. A./M. Sc. Part –I examination in the first attempt.

4. The fellowship shall not be held in-conjunction with any other fellowship. or scholarship

5. The fellowship shall be tenable for a period of 10 month (June to March of the year). The Academic Council may however, terminate its tenure earlier if the fellow ceases to prosecute his studies to the satisfaction of the principal or Head of the Department or for any reason as may be considered adequate by the Academic Council.

6. The fellowship shall be awarded on the results of the examinations held in the month of March-April every year.

7. In the event if the student obtaining highest percentage of marks does not fulfil the conditions laid down in clause 3(i) and(ii) above the fellowship shall be given to the next person satisfying the conditions.

8. In the event of two or more students found eligible for the award under clause 3 above, the award shall be made to the students who from amongst them obtains highest percentage of marks in Mathematics at the final B.A. and B.Sc. examination (taken together) and has passed the said examination in the first attempt.

9. In the event of two or more persons being eligible for the fellowship under paragraph 7 and 8 above, the fellowship shall be awarded to the person who is younger in age.

10. An amount up-to Rs. 300/- if left over after reserving the amount for payment of fellowship shall be paid to the same student at the beginning of the session for the purchase of books on mathematics.

11. All matters not otherwise provided for in this schedule shall be determined by the Academic Council of the University whose decision thereon shall be final.

3. Out of the total annual income 10% thereof shall be deducted as administrative charges.
The net income shall be utilised for award of Scholarship to be called Shri B.H. Kale Scholarship every year. This Scholarship be made available to all Post-Graduate Courses in the L.I.T. Nagpur University, Nagpur and the poorest student be held eligible for this Scholarship.

4. The annual income limit all sources does not exceed Rs. 12000/- per annum.

5. The scholarship shall be tenable for a period of 12 months in the first instance to be renewed for another year subject to the satisfactory progress at each University Examination. On the scholar ceasing to prosecute such a course of studies to the satisfaction of the Director, L.I.T. at any time during the above period, the scholarship shall be terminated forthwith.

6. The Selection of the candidate for the award of this scholarship- will be made by a Committee consisting of the (i) Vice-Chancellor (Chairman) (ii) One member of the Governing body of the L.I.T. and (iii) be Director, L.I.T. (Secretary). This Committee shall also decide about renewal of the scholarship for another year.

7. Any money saved out of the income of the endowment shall be allowed to accumulate and utilized for increasing the value of the award.
8. All matters not otherwise provided for in these Regulations shall be determined by the Academic Council and its decision shall be final.

Out of the total annual income 10% thereof shall be deducted as administrative charges and The net income shall be utilised for award of a Scholarship to be called “The Nagpur Electric Light and Power Co. Ltd. (In Voluntary windingup) Education Endowment fund for Scholarship,” to a student who is studying at the Laxminarayan Institute of Technology for B. Tech . examination (Last two years of the degree course) in Chemical Engineering.

4. i) The scholarship shall be tenable for a period of 12 months in the first
instance to be renewed for another year subject to the satisfactory* progress at each University examination. If the scholar does not prosecute such a course of study to the satisfaction of the Director, L I.T at any time during the tenure of the scholarship, the scholarship shall be terminated forthwith by the Director, L.I.T.

ii) Candidate for award of Scholarship shall be selected from the students who have passed the 3rd year B. Tech. Examination of the Nagpur University from Laxminarayan Institute of Technology, Nagpur and prosecutes his further studies in Final B. Tech. Part-I of Nagpur University at the L.I.T. Nagpur subject to the fulfillment of the eligibility laid down in clause-5

* (Satisfactory progress means: besides regular attendance and good behaviour, the student should have passed each semester examination securing not less than 60% marks without grace).

5. Eligibility for the award of Scholarships

a) Student securing highest number of marks in First and Second Semester Examinations of 3rd year B. Tech. Taken together having passed the said Examination in first attempt without grace.

b) In the event of two or more students found eligible for the award, the scholarship shall be awarded to –
(i) The Children of erstwhile staff of N.E.L.& Power Co. Ltd. ( In Voluntary windingup) who were on the roll of the Company in January, 1972 when the Company was taken over by the M.S. Electricity Board.
(ii) In the absence of any candidate fulfilling the conditions in clause5 (b) (i) above scholarship shall be awarded to the one who is youngest in age.

6. With the introduction of four year degree course is substation of existing five year degree course the award shall be made on the basis of 2nd year B. Tech. Exam. of the Nagpur University above remaining the same.

7. The Scholarship shall be awarded to the eligible student for a period of two years in continuation subject to the fulfillment of the conditions laid down in clause 4 and 5.

8. The Scholarship shall not be held in conjunction with any other scholarship.

9. The Selection of the Candidate for the award of this scholarship will be made by the L.I.T. Committee.

In order that the students of L.I.T. should know the availability of this scholarship, a brief note to this effect may be the included in the prospectus of the L. I. T.

10. Any money saved out of the income of the endowment shall be allowed to accumulate and when possible, added to the fund and the additional income shall utilized in increasing the value of the award.. In case the income falls short of Rs. 500/-p.m. month, the Amount shall suitable reduced.

11. All matters not otherwise provided for in these regulations, shall be determined by the Academic Council and its decision thereon shall be final.

Out of the total annual income 10% shall be deducted as administrative charges, and The net amount shall be utilised for award of a Scholarship on the basis of merit to a student who has joined as a regular student M.A. Part-I (Economics class in the University Post Graduate Department or any other college affiliated to the Nagpur University, and has passed the B.A. Examination of the Nagpur University, with Economics as one of the subjects securing highest No. of marks in that subject at least 50% marks in Economics.

ii) The Scholarship will be continued for M.A. Part-II also. Provided the awardees has passed the M. A. Part-I Examination with at last 50% marks in the aggregate and has joined, as a regular student M. A. Part-II (Economics) class in the University Post-Graduate Department or any other college affiliated to the Nagpur University, otherwise the scholarship shall cease at the end of the M.A. Part-I Session.

iii) If The scholar does not prosecute a course of study to the satisfaction of the Head of the Department or the principal of the college where the awardees or the Principal of the college where the awardees is studying the University may discontinue the scholarship.

4. The duration of the scholarship shall be from the 1st July till the end of the session of M.A. Part.-I . If the scholarship continues for M. A. Part –II also it will be continued till the end that session.

5. The scholarship shall not be held in conjunction with any other scholarship, free ship etc.

6. In the event of two or more students being found eligible for the award of Scholarship, it shall be awarded to the younger or youngest in age.


7. The Donor reserves the right to review these regulations after Ten years without adversely affecting the scholarship already in force. After death of the donor the University shall have full right over the endowment.

8. Any money saved out of the income of the endowment shall be allowed to accumulate and when possible, added to the fund and the additional income shall utilized in increasing the value of the award.. Out of the total annual income 10% shall be deducted as administrative charges, and the net amount shall be utilised for award of a Scholarship on the basis of merit who has joined as a regular student M.A. Part-I (Sanskrit) class in the University Post Graduate Department or any other college affiliated to the Nagpur University, and has passed the B.A. Examination of the Nagpur University, with Sanskrit as one of the subject securing highest No. of marks (at least 51% marks) in Sanskrit subject.

i) In case the student securing highest No. of marks. (at least 51% marks in Sanskrit subject). does not seek admission as a regular student in M. A. Part-I Sanskrit class in the University Post Graduate Department or any other college affiliated to the Nagpur University, then the scholarship will be paid to student securing Second highest marks in Sanskrit subject at B.A. Examination provided he
secure admission to M.A. Part-I (Sanskrit) class in University Post Graduate Department or any other college affiliated to the Nagpur University.

ii) The Scholarship will be continued for M.A. Part-II also. Provided the awardees has secured at least 50% marks at the M. A. Part –I Examination of the Nagpur University and has joined, as a regular student M. A. Part-II (Sanskrit) class in the University Post-Graduate Department or any other college affiliated to the Nagpur University, otherwise the scholarship shall cease at the end of the M.A. Part-I Session. However the awardee is permitted to represent his case for renewal of the scholarship to the University authorities and the decision of the Executive Council in such case shall be final

iii) If The scholar does not prosecute a course of study to the satisfaction of the Head of the Department or the Principal of the college where he is studying the University may discontinue the scholarship.

ii) If the scholar does not prosecute a course of study to the satisfaction of the Director, of the University Department of Business Management or the Principal of the College where the awarded is studying the University may discontinue the scholarship.

4. The duration of the scholarship shall be from the 1st July till the end of the session of M.B.A. Part.-II .

5. The scholarship shall not be held in conjunction with any other scholarship, free ship etc.

6. In the event of two or more students being found eligible for the award, it shall be awarde to the one who is younger or youngest in age.

7. Any money saved out of the income of the endowment shall be allowed to accumulate and when possible added to the fund, and the additional income shall utilized in increasing the value of the award.. ii) He/She should have passed second year B. Tech. in first attempt and without grace.

iii) If the First merit candidate is not eligible it shall be given to the second merit candidate.

iv) He/She shall bnot accept any other scholarship.

v) The scholarship is to be paid on satisfactory performance in attendance at the third year B. Tech and it shall not be less than 75%.

5. The scholarship shall be tenable for ten months and shall not be held inconjuction with other scholarships.

6. In the event of two or more examinees obtaining the same number of marks. The scholarship shall be awarded to the one who is younger or youngest in age.

7. The award of the scholarship shall be made on the recommendation of the Director, L.I.T. Nagpur.

8 Any money saved out of the income of the endowment shall be allowed to accumulate and when possible added to the fund, and the additional income shall be utilized in increasing the value of the scholarship.

4 a) These Scholarships shall be restricted to the Students seeking admission in the University Teaching Deptts. and conducted colleges, who have secured not less than 50% Marks at the Exams. Qualifying for their admission, and the annual income of whose parents including that of the Student does not excess Rs.20,000/- per annum (As Amended by the executive Council on 30/08/1993

b) These Scholarship shall bot be held in conjunction with any other Scholarship/Free ship.

c) Each year the University shall invite applications in the beginning of the academic year from all the needy students in the form to be prescribed by the Management Council.

d) The application so received shall be placed before a sub-Committee consisting of the following persons.

I Vice-Chancellor (Chairman )
II Two local members to be nominated by the Management Council
III Shri Y. T. Korke, Chartereds Accountant, Dharampeth Ext. Nagpur or his nominee.

e) This Committee after examining all the applications so received shall recommend to the Management Council The names of the deserving students for these Scholarships in order of performance.

F) The decision of the Management Council taken on the recommendation of the above mentioned Committee shall be Final

g) If the Scholarship discontinuous his study or dos not prosecute course of study to the satisfaction on the Head of Deptt. Or the Principal of the college where be is studying the Management Council may discontinue the Scholarship.

5 As per the will of Late Dr. ( Miss) Kamlabai T. Korke, the portion of the bequeathed house presently occupied by Shri Anant T. Korke, brother her of the testator and his wife Mrs. Sushila A. Korke, shall be continues to be occupied by them free of rent for their life time. After their demise, this portion shall also revert to the University this portion may also be late out of by the University then. An the income there from shall be added to the corpus of the fund.

6 In case the University decided to sell be House property after the demise of Shri & Smt. A. T. Korke, the sale proceeds will continue to be the crops of this fund award of the Scholarship.

7. Terms and Conditions for the Fellowship

1) Candidate must passes M. Sc. in Physics with minimum 55% marks from
recognized University preference will be given to student with Materials Science
background.
2) He/She should register for Ph. D. Degree with R. T. M. Nagpur University
3) Place of work would be Materials Science Research Laboratory developed by
Dr. (Miss) Kamal Singh in the Department of Physics, R. T. M. Nagpur
University.
4) The fellowship tenure is for minimum one year and extendable to second or third
year depending on the progress. Maximum tenure of fellowship will be three years.
5) The progress of the candidate will be monitored every six months by the
in-charge of Materials Science Research Laboratory.

1) The selection of candidate should be made by following procedure given below:-
 

a) Inviting the application from the candidates by circulating circulars.
b) After scrutiny the candidates may be called for interview.

8. All matters not otherwise provided for in these regulations shall be determined by the Management Council and its decision thereon shall be final.
